Little Women: The Musical

lighting designnovember 2007, gillioz theatre

This production portrayed many different scenes within a unit set.  The lights were used to drastically change the scenes while to represent the different times of day and the passage of the seasons. To achieve this I utilized many different scrollers, gobos and projections to manipulate the quality of light on the stage.  Along with the light changing within each scene, the audience needed to observe the life around Jo deteriorating, until the conclusion of the play where she is inspired to become successful.  To reflect that deterioration, the lights got harsher and the angles steeper until the happy finale.
